EBA is starting to put to use it’s EBA Scholarship Fund, as it’s first recipient is Brett Platts from Summerside who has received a $500 scholarship from EBA last week to assist with his upcoming commitment to Okotoks Dawgs Baseball Academy in September.

EBA’s Scholarship Fund had started in 2014 and has received great feedback ever since it’s creation. This scholarship fund will go to assist any families in two ways, 1. support players and families who cannot afford to play baseball, 2. support players who earn the opportunity to attend a baseball academy or collegiate program.

Platts has been with EBA over the last two years training vigorously in our Sr Winter Training Program and Private Lessons. Over those two years Platts has excelled into a hard working player with solid fundamentals along with an improved approach at the plate, making him a tough out during his at bats. Platts will also join Okotoks Baseball Academy in July as they make a trip to Florida where the team will play a variety of travel teams in tournament style play.

As Platts currently awaits to attend EBA’s Collegiate Showcase in mid June he will spend the summer training with the Youth Selects team in preparation for the Canada Cup in Saskatoon. A tournament which attracts a lot of the best players across Canada.

EBA would like to wish Brett Platts all the best in his young baseball career!
